What is Wii Fit?
Wii Fit uses the concept of 'Wii' to promote physical fitness and strength. Everything remains the same. The only difference is that Wii is primarily meant for having fun where as Wii Fit aims at enhancing your fitness levels. The setup makes use of 11 X19 inch balance board, which helps sense your centre of gravity. This is done by measuring the amount of pressure you exert on each foot.

Practicing yoga with Wii Fit is simple and fun too. You choose a male or female trainer who demonstrates various yoga poses. You are required to follow these yoga poses. As you practice these poses, you will see graphics on your TV screen that will indicate your balance. This makes it easier for you to practice as you can always see where you are going wrong.

After you practice each pose, the balance board gives a score that rates your performance. This score is evaluated on the basis of whether or not you have been able to hold your center of gravity. In some cases, the score may be determined on the basis of how you have exerted pressure via your hands or feet. This score is then compared with other players on the system, bringing in a competitive edge to the game.

The pros and cons     
Talking about the positives, yoga on Wii Fit can be quite fun and exhilarating. It is enjoyable to exercise as you play. For those of you who hate exercising, this one is the best option.

On the downside, practicing yoga on Wii fit can be quite time consuming. It takes time to browse through menus, understand the advice of the trainer and to check various gaming modes. So, even if you are spending an hour on the Wii Fit, you may actually be exercising for just 30 minutes.

Another drawback of yoga on the Wii Fit is that it is not the best bet for starters. You need to have some idea of yoga before you get started. Also, some of the poses as suggested by the yoga instructor are completely wrong. For instance, the Warrior II and Downward Facing Dog are two poses that are taught completely incorrectly.
