In the ancient works of sages and scholars, lie the foundations of yoga. Over the time, yoga therapy expanded and spread everywhere and today yoga is a practice that is very much a vouched for.. Although you cannot learn yoga in a day, you can start to learn yoga with the help of various simple yoga exercises.
Ardha-Matsyendrasan This exercise involves a lot of twist and turns. It is primarily meant for the benefit of the spine, internal organs, and the muscles in the abdomen. This exercise helps reduce the rigidity of the spine and increases free and flexible movements. The asana is to be performed while seated. Bend one of your knees towards yourself and cross your legs across your bent knee. With one of your hands touching your knee, twist the other one around your back with your neck craning to the other side. Then repeat the yoga pose with the other knee for two minutes.
Halasan
The Halasan yoga posture literally translated means a posture resembling a plough. With your arms outstretched and straight, tilt your legs over and across your head so that they are straight, over and flat out over the head. Exercising in this manner will stimulate the functioning of the thymus and thyroid glands, thus making you look youthful for a longer period. Moreover, it also helps in the better circulation and co-ordination of the body. This mudra also infuses the body with vitality.
Pavan-Muktasan The asana helps in doing away with acidity and other stomach problems. It serves quick relief to any stomach disorders and strengthens the joints and muscles of the lower limbs. Pull your knees towards yourselves and hold them together with your hands. See to it that your nose is touching the knee. This is a deep breathing exercise and you are required to exhale when you release and inhale when you form the posture. Care to note that the asana should only last for 1/2 minutes with each leg.
