Have Happy Feet With Yoga
There is a lot that our feet do for us. They bear our weight all day long, help us move and keep us connected to the ground. Despite our feet doing so much for us, we do not give them the attention they deserve. As a result of the constant ignorance that our feet are subjected to, they end up falling prey to various feet problems. If you want to avoid these feet problems, it is important that you take care of your feet and yoga is the best way to go about the same.

The basics

When you are practicing yoga for feet, the first thing is that you need to do is naturally build awareness about feet. You need to take into account the way you stand. Do you put weight on your toes? Or do you stress your feet ankles more? Once you have understood how your weight falls and in what proportion on your feet, the next thing would be to strike a balance.

To achieve a balance, lift your feet alternatively from the front and the back. When you lift your foot from the front, simultaneously push down the heel of your foot towards the ground. This will help you throw your weight in a much balanced manner.

Exercise your toes
Toes are one of the most important parts of your foot. When you are practicing yoga for the feet, you need to make sure that you exercise your feet well. To exercise your toes with yoga, stretch your toes as you stand. While you stretch your toes, at the same time press your heels towards the ground.

Balance it with four corners
It is important to analyze the way your feet are placed on the ground. Do you stand with your toes rolled inwards? Are you putting all the pressure on your heels? To ensure that your weight is evenly distributed across the feet, consider your foot as a square. Take the little finger, thumb, outer heel and inner heel as four different corners of the square. Now, ensure that there is equal weight on each of these corners.

Work it up

Lastly, you need to give your feet some exercise. Stretch your feet in whatever way you can. Place a tennis ball under your foot and roll it with your foot. This will exercise your toes, heel and the sole of your foot. The Adho Mukha Svanasana or the downward facing dog pose is yet another great way to exercise your feet.
