Yogic Asanas to Improve Your Posture
Due to a hectic schedule, bad working habits and a bad posture, men complain of severe back and neck problems. This happens primarily because of under use, misuse or the overuse of the neck muscles due to slouching around on the couch all day long. It can also happen because of the wrong sitting posture while working.

Yoga therapy for the neck and back muscles is extremely helpful in bringing back circulation and toning these muscles again.

The following yogic postures and tips are beneficial for treating neck and back pain.

* Seated poses or asana (Sukhasana):
This pose is one of the best kinds of meditation and is done after the exercise of the Corpse pose. It is helpful for straightening the spine, improving concentration, and promoting spirituality within oneself.

* The Supine pose or raising one leg:
It is a warm up asana and is of great benefit to the limbs, abdomen and lower back muscles.

* Shoulder stretching exercises:
It strengthens the upper back muscles and relieves the stress and tension off our shoulders.

* Standing asanas such as the Surya Namaskara or the Sun salutation:
It is an extremely beautiful bit of yoga and 12 asanas are performed at one go. It is in preparation for the other yoga exercises.

* Half spinal twists or the Ardha Matsyendrasana:
It elongates and strengthens the backbone and the muscles attached to it. It also helps the kidneys, the liver, and the adrenal glands. Always perform this yoga under the supervision of a yogi or yoga instructor.
