Hatha Yoga Is Beneficial For the Mind, Body and Spirit
Yoga therapy has tremendous benefits, both in physical and spiritual terms. This is chiefly because yoga training employs a combination of physical exercise (asana), breathing exercises (pranayama), and extensive meditation. The practice fosters peace and tranquility and helps us to reconnect our physical and spiritual self.

Yoga eradicates various ailments. The benefits of Hatha Yoga are well known. This form of yoga cures certain conditions and diseases that are considered life threatening and incurable, such as  asthma, arteriosclerosis, obesity and diabetes. It even helps in the reduction of the symptoms of AIDS.

Hatha Yoga practice reduces the onset and effects of ageing and helps develop physical coordination and a sense of balance. It also revitalizes the consciousness. Hatha yoga comprises of stretching exercises that helps tone the joints and muscles, elongate the spine and improves the functioning of the circulatory system in our body.

It also helps improve secretion of glands, especially the functioning of the endocrine glands. Hatha Yoga exercises are physically demanding and need to be carried out in a prescribed manner.  These exercises are not entirely aerobic in nature. They involve body movements accompanied by intense breathing exercises.

The best part of Hatha yoga is that it is not at all strenuous and unlike other physical exercises such as weight training, hiking or biking, it relaxes the mind and the body. Therefore, Hatha Yoga exercising can be performed by people of age groups. These exercises if performed properly and under the guidance of a trained teacher have no side effects except good health and a sense of spirituality.
