Prenatal Yoga has certain easy yoga postures and positions meant for woman who are in an advanced stage of pregnancy and are about to give birth to their child. Certain tips that are a part of this form of yoga, help prevent a pregnant woman from excessive swelling and pain in the feet. It also reduces other pregnancy related complications. Most of the pregnant women suffer from depression and anxiety in later stage of pregnancy. These prenatal yoga postures help them to reduce tension and anxiety and give them peace of mind.
Pre natal yoga therapy strengthens a woman's legs, limb, and pelvic zone and back in order to ease out the pain of carrying the baby. It is important that prenatal yoga be learnt from an experienced yogi so that the practice does not adversely affect your baby or you. Along with basic yoga poses that can be practiced in the early stages of pregnancy, there are various asanas suitable for a pregnant woman. These are as follows-
Padmasana It is a sitting posture in which you need to be sitting in an upright position, with your legs on the opposite thighs. The right foot should be on the left thigh and left foot on the right thigh.
Shavasana It literally means the pose of a corpse. You are made to lie on your back while keeping your hands and legs straight but in a relaxed posture. You are also suggested to breathe normally.
Vajrasana In this exercise, you bend your knees in such a way that your hips are positioned on the heels of your legs. You are directed to rest your hand on the knee.
Sukhasana In this asana, you are made to sit in a low crouching position. It helps prevent menstrual disorders.
