Go slow and steady
One should always go step by step irrespective of which form of yoga he/she is practicing. The same goes in this case too. Start by practicing simple poses. Acquaint yourself with simple sitting and standing postures and other simple poses like twists and bends before you make an attempt at the more challenging poses.

Once you have become comfortable with the basic poses you can then proceed to the more difficult and challenging ones. Now start practicing the complex poses such as backwards, inversions and the like. Balancing on your hands is another complex pose that you can practice.
