Ananda Yoga and Meditation
Ananda yoga is a kind of yoga developed by J. Donald Walters and Swami Kriyananda. He is also the author of the book Ananda Yoga for Higher Awareness. Ananda Yoga is based upon the yogic training that Swami Kriyanand received from Paramhansa Yogananda. It is through Ananda Yoga and meditation that one can achieve the integration of the self with the universal self. Yoga and meditation for bringing immediate changes to our spiritual lives has achieved a popular cult status today.

Ananda yoga stresses on proper alignment of the bones for performing yogic postures. In order to prevent any kind of injury to the body and experience the hidden purpose of Hatha yoga, one can follow Ananda Yoga and meditation. In Ananda yoga, yoga poses are not that difficult like that of any other branches of Hatha yoga. In Ananda yoga, the order of different postures is sequenced in such a way that after practicing this form of yoga one can feel the life force. To follow Ananda yoga and meditation, you will have to follow a special deep breathing exercise called  Pranayama. This is an important exercise to experience the energy of the inner self.

Meditation is an important factor of Ananda yoga. For reducing stress and hypertension, you can follow Ananda yoga effectively. Through asana and physical exercise, one can achieve concentration, calmness and stability. It would not be wrong to say that yoga has become a way of life.
