The Diamond Pose or the Vajrasana
Introduction:

If you are a regular reader of articles on yoga, this is to remind you again. The ancients were very fond of trees and animals. But when they named a particular asana after  nature, there was a reason and a meaning behind doing so.

To put it spiritually, the name derived special positive vibrations. Tadasana falls into this category. Tada is a Sanskrit word, meaning palm tree. The palm tree is tall and graceful and has the look of an athlete. It is neither the sitting pose nor the standing pose. It is supposed to be the link between the two. It is a specially recommended asana for women and children. The reason it is beneficial for women and children is given later in the article. Please read on.

Benefits:

I will not make you wait for too long to let you know the benefit of this special asana. When you do this asana, it is enumerated that traction occurs in 206 bones of the human body. Regular practice of this asana increases your height. It is a potent tool to remove the heaviness of the buttocks and help reshape your bulging tummy.   The body gains its proper shape and becomes attractive. The functioning of all the systems of the body, such as respiratory system, digestive system, excretory system, glandular system and nervous system are toned.  It makes your shoulders strong, gives lots of energy to the heart, and activates the lungs. The old age related shivering of hands and feet is stopped.  It keeps you in top gear throughout the day.

Procedure:

Lie on the back, on the mat. Join the heels and toes in perfect alignment. Stretch the hands backwards, as you inhale. We will now discuss the most important part of the asana. Stretch the hands at one end to the maximum extent possible, and the feet at the other. Hold the breath for some seconds. Exhale, and return to the original position, slowly and gracefully.  Breathe in the normal way. You need to repeat this process twice. You should take rest before each round.

Tadasana is supposed to be one of the best and simplest of asanas. This asana is recommended by any yoga teacher, in the initial part of a yoga course.
