Savasana as a sleeping pose

Many yoga and health experts are of the view that instead of sleeping in an arbitrarily manner, people should try to sleep in Savasana. The reason for the same is that during Savasana the body is in an anabolic state. This means that the body is in a position to rejuvenate itself. The organs and tissues in the body are built up during this yoga asana.

Thus sleeping in Savasana will help in relaxing the mind, body and the soul and make your sleep a lot more peaceful and relaxing.

Begin and end your yoga session with the Savasana

The Savasana should be the starting and ending pose of any yoga session. Starting your yoga session with the Savasana allows your body to relax and rejuvenate itself. This helps you to grasp and perform more during the course of the session.

This yoga posture should also be practiced at the end of a yoga session. Doing so, helps an individual concentrate on whatever he has learnt through the yoga session on a given day.
