Empty your lungs by repeatedly breathing out the residue air. Let your collar bones droop and abdomen shrink while you breathe out. Repeat the process for five minutes.

Another very effective pranayama is kapalabhati. Sit erect and breathe in through your nostrils and exhale immediately through the nostrils. Inhale again and forcefully throw out the sir through your nostrils. It is recommended that 60 strokes should be performed in a minute. Follow this exercise for 15 minutes to purge off your body from impurities.

Bhramari
pranayama helps to stimulate your nerves and makes the entire body vibrate. Close your eyes and shut your ears with your thumbs. Rest your index fingers on your forehead and the other on your eyes while touching the base of your nose. So, you are in the perfect posture now. Start humming like a bee and feel your entire body stimulating due to the vibrations created by this sound.

Anulom vilom helps you intake maximum oxygen in your body and throws out the deoxygenated air. Close your right nostril with your thumb and inhale through the left one. Now place the thumb on the left nostril and exhale the air through the right one. Repeat this process for at least five minutes and your body will feel light and fresh!

Apart from these steps, there are certain other things that you must take care of while doing pranayama. Ensure that you have appropriate environment to perform breathing exercises. That is, you need to perform pranayama in fresh air as the breathing exercises performed in fresh air are the most beneficial. Sitting erect also helps the body to function better.
