For most of us, morning is the most stressful time of the day. There is a lot to be accomplished in the two-three hours that we have. Things get more complicated if a yoga session or an exercise routine is thrown in. However, absence of physical activity can almost ruin your health, you need to incorporate some at all costs.
Since time is one quantity that you would be always short of in the mornings, you need to devise a yoga routine which can be easily followed. The routine should be such that it does not require elaborate preparations but can be done easily. Here are a few poses which you can easily include in your morning yoga routine despite your busy schedule:
Sun Salutation: The sun salutation is an elementary and yet effective yoga pose which you can do in the morning. It helps your body fight off last night's fatigue and get rejuvenated for the day's work lying ahead. The best part is that it incorporates a lot of yoga poses in itself. Hence, with one yoga pose you get the benefit of many.
Half Sun Salutes: Move into your yoga routine by performing half-sun salutes. You can incorporate five to ten half-sun salutes in to your morning yoga routine. This pose would prepare your body for the poses to come by regularizing your breathing pattern. Your joints as well as spine would also become ready for the day's rigor.
Sun Salute A: After you have performed half sun salutes, you can gently move into a variation of Chaturanga Dandasana (Four-Limbed Staff Pose). In this variation, you can lower down to the floor from your knees rather than from your chest as in the Chaturanga Dandasana.
Variation of Cobra Pose: In normal yoga routine Chaturanga Dandasana (Four-Limbed Staff Pose) is followed by Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (Upward-Facing Dog). However, in your morning yoga routine you can avoid this and follow up the previous pose with another variation of the Bhujangasana (Cobra pose). In this variation, you need not stretch your torso fully towards the ceiling but can hold the position midway.
Once you are through with these yoga poses you can follow them up with either classical Sun Salute C pose or a few more rounds of Sun Salute A. Doing them for 15 minutes is more than enough. However, to increase your energy, intensity, range of motion and alertness, you can incorporate a few twists of the body in between.
The above mentioned yoga routine can work for all most everybody. As you can see, there is no need for any type of props and the yoga poses are elementary yet good for the body. Therefore, you must not have any problem following them every morning!
