Yoga is the physical exercise through which helps you to achieve a balance between the body and the mind. The wide ranges of yoga postures help you to gain a high level of self-awareness, strength and peace of mind. Yogic exercise will help make your body flexible and can get rid of different ailments such as hypertension. Your body will be more balanced than ever before. However, Yogic exercise may require certain equipment that makes it easier for you to pursue your yoga training. Examples of such equipment are provided below.
a) Clothing: Clothing is important as the clothes that you wear during yoga have to be comfortable and loose enough for you to be able to exercise. You should wear only exercise shirts and pants. Cotton cloths are the best bet.
b) Mats: Another type of equipment is the yoga mat. A yoga mats is important as it will give you personal space, helps your hands and feet to grip and keeps you from slipping. On a hard floor it provides a bit of cushioning. Always use Yoga mats which are chemical free.
c) Bench: A bench will help you in your Yoga meditation. Look for a comfortable hardwood meditation bench with unique rounded legs.
d) Blankets and Pillows: Blankets and pillows are very useful during yoga exercise. If you are sitting in a cross-legged position, you can use the blanket to sit comfortably. Pillows help you to relax during under your sit bones so as to elevate the hips above the knees. The blankets are very handy to use in final relaxation at the end of the class.
Pillows also come in handy to provide better spinal alignment and help you to perform certain asanas comfortably.
e) Straps: Straps is very handy equipment for certain yogic exercises. The use of straps for certain poses helps you if your hands do not reach each other or if you need to hold your feet but cannot reach them.
All the above types of equipment help you to properly align yourself in certain poses. Some of the above equipment can be used in every exercise, whereas other equipment can be used in certain situations or poses.
